I had a chance to interview Julia Seraphine, Founder of The Julia Seraphine Agency and an award-winning 22-year-old Entrepreneur. She is a notable social media expert and has been nominated for the Forbes 30 Under 30. Julia Seraphine is committed to mentoring the Business Leaders of tomorrow; putting initiatives in place to sponsor upcoming student business competitions, mentoring individuals from around the world who plan to become entrepreneurs, volunteering at local events, and offering internships for local students to learn more about the industry.

Tell us more about what The Julia Seraphine Agency does and what is the vision in this advancing social media behaviour?

So the Julia Seraphine agency aims to help our clients and customers grow their social media platforms. And our clients are mostly medium to large-sized businesses. That’s what we’re scaling up for. And the mission in growing their social media accounts is to raise their profile, get more customers, raise their social proof, and overall to just help their brand image.

What were the struggles you faced initially founding The Julia Seraphine Agency and how did you approach them?

A lack of social proof was definitely something that I had to overcome. Especially because I’m an entrepreneur at such a young age, that people thought that I’m not as skilled as I am. They thought that I was just some kid, right? So I had to go out there and prove myself and work with clients. I had to sort of, show people that I knew what I was talking about. So I did interviews. I did podcasts. I talked to as many people as I could, and just networked also.

Being an entrepreneur at such a young age and being nominated for the Forbes 30 Under 30, what has been your motivation and your story?

So I’ve actually been really self-motivated. I hold myself to my own ideals instead of comparing myself to others. And in doing that, I’ve really been able to sort of bring myself to do all these great things that ended up in me being nominated for the Forbes 30 under 30 and me having a successful business.

Being a mentor to Business Leaders, what is your message to those aspiring to be leaders and entrepreneurs?

I would say that even though it may seem impossible, and that the road ahead is really, really long, things will start paying off a lot sooner than you expect and even if it takes a while, it’ll definitely be worth it. All this hard work that you’re putting in right now will be worth it.

What is the one thing outside of work that you are currently learning?

I would guess that I would have to be probably creative writing something I’ve been working on. I want to make YouTube videos in the future. And I want them to be entertaining, but also educational for business leaders of tomorrow. So writing creatively has been something I’ve been trying to practice. And I’d also like to start a blog as well. So in doing that, I’d really like to show off my creative writing.

What is your favourite aspect of being an entrepreneur?

I would say it’s definitely being my own boss and sort of charting my own path. I don’t have others deciding for me what I should or shouldn’t be doing, or where I could take my business where I could take my career.
